Fit Testing

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) (29 CFR 1910.134) requires a respirator fit test to confirm the fit of any respirator that forms a tight seal on the wear’s face before it is to be used in the workplace. That same OSHA respirator standard also prohibits tight fitting respirators to be worn by workers who have facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face of the wearer.

N95

Montana Safety Services Council now has the capability to fit test for the N95 respirators using the AccuFIT 9000 PRO.

You need to provide your own mask for the test.  A probe is inserted into the mask and will render the mask unusable after the test.  Additional masks may be needed.

Air Purifying, Supplied Air & SCBA Respirators

We also provide quantitative fit testing for 3M, North and Scott respirators using our OHD Quantifit.  You can bring your own 3M, North and Scott respirators or test using one we have available.  We have 3M 6000 series and North 7000 series half/full face masks and Scott AV2000.
